One minimum for the whole store
A minimum of 300 characters flags 299, while 300 and 301 pass. No sample size, median or attribute popularity changes that boundary. Empty descriptions have their own missing-description control.
How CatalogLift finds thin descriptions
The count uses Unicode text characters after removing markup and script or style subtrees, with leading and trailing whitespace trimmed. The scan, Playbook samples and closure checks share that measurement.
Severity shows distance from your minimum: below a quarter is high, below half is medium, and the remaining shortfall is low. This is not a prediction of lost sales.

Review facts before adding words
A compact specification may already be useful. If information is missing, add verified facts or request a draft. You or your connected agent reviews and approves the diff; CatalogLift records the decision, applies it and checks the result.
Playbook can state a preferred maximum. Checks and Playbook reject a minimum above that maximum. Lowering the minimum can close findings as a change of criteria, without counting them as product repairs.
